“Pure Viola” is classically played viola, pushed to the limits of sound production by highly developed playing technique:

• polyphonic sounds on one string
• very fast, overlapping overtone cascades
• by amplification opening up a world of sound at the limit of audibility
• Sounds below the regular sound range of the viola

For us Gunter Pretzel’s music is a metaphorical starting point to look for the origin of the machine’s voice.
